Having been very encouraged at the Northampton game i jot off for a few days to come back to hear of losing to Ringmer!Now i know it was only a friendly and that if it meant anything that we would of hammered them, but i for one live in Lewes and find it hugely embarrasing getting stick of the "ringmerites" for this result,something one or two of the players might want to take on board the next time local bragging rites are up for grabs starting with the Horsham game as a defeat there is unthinkable.
T he squad Steve has assembled is frightening and day by day Steve puts more and more effort into making this club a succsess and that is great to see but we must not run before we can walk in this division and we must not get disillusioned or panicky if we dont get the "expected "crowds for the first few games. I expect 300-400 first game of the season and a average of 500-600 at the end of the year,this is a realistic target and
anything else will be a bonus,we must not start getting dispondent too early.
The bar is excellent and a real plus for the club though i would like to see it "Lewes-fied"with a few framed shirts ,trophys etc(look the word up Pookie!) as at the Northampton game i felt that
i should take my shoes off before i went in but that is a minor moan,the bar is a fantastic feather in the cap for Steve and the supporters clubs efforts.
Talking in the Kings Head Saturday with the lads there is a genuine buzz about the new season and a
huge anticipation to see more off the players Steve has got at his disposal but a slight worry about the keeper situation,lets hope Jimmy Glass
comes through.
Anyway cant wait for Saturday bring on Maggs and his ragbags!!!
