There is a common misconception that point spreads represent the oddsmakers’ prediction of how many points the favorite will win by. That is not the case at all – their intent is NOT to evenly split the ATS result between the teams; rather, their goal is to attract equal betting action on both sides. Stated another way, they want to create a line that half the people find appealing to bet one way while the other half find it appealing to bet the other way (known as ‘dividing the action’).

Given that this forum's filled with Laval fans, and that a lot of people "bet" with their heart, it is only natural that the line be biased toward the Rouge et Or. If you look at the results of last week's poll you will see that the vote was split right down the middle which made it a good line regardless of the outcome.
Now, if my line is all it took for the Redmen to play at Laval's level for an entire half, I must be a freaking genius. Imagine what I could do if I were their coach! Glen's got nothing on me folks! Mammouth power!
