Speaking of warranties, I tried to return a Black and Decker drill that stopped working, it also had a lifetime warranty. They refused to replace it. It turns out that the lifetime pertains to the lifetime of the average use of a drill that they determined to be 15 years and not my own existence in this world.
Perhaps the REME Association did not expect us to reach the age we are. For the record, I am at the wrong half of 70. Is it worth reapplying for the remainder of my life?
Back to the drill, being an ex greenie I took it apart. It was a piece of crap, not worth repairing, so I borrowed my neighbour's. Why spend the money for another "lifetime warranty" when I know for sure I will not be around in 15 years!
Cheers
