I just came across a news item that 1/2 million plus people marched through London demanding a re-vote on the Brexit situation.
The Prime Minister is in a bit of a quandry. Should she agree thereby alienating a substantial voter base that consists of primarily the older generations (that do not have many leaves left on their collective trees) or reject the idea alienating the younger voters that have a greater stake in Britain's future?
I would be interested in your opinions, and if possible your children's. My sister (Yorkshire born and bred of Ukrainian immigrants) seems hesitant yet her son now in his late 20's is staunchly pro EU stating that Enoch Powell, the British Empire and Paki-bashing are things of the past, quite rightly in the dustbin of history, and the future is not in isolationism, but inclusion. The older generation ( I think he means us old farts) really messed things up and we should stand aside and let the " Young Turks" have a go. He does have a way with words.
As you may well know, I left the UK and emigrated to the United States over 40 years ago, yet many of my American friends look towards me for enlightenment as to what the hell is happening with their cousins across the Atlantic. I struggle to explain, but having only my sister , nephew and the internet as an information source, it leaves me with a rather slanted view.
On a lighter note, the Americans are still embarrassed about Mr Trump's faux-pas when he stepped in front of HM the Queen last year during the review of the troops at Windsor Castle, but as we all know...it is Mr. Trump.
I await comments, enlightenment if any.
Regards to all,
Fred
