I remember the engine failure incident at JWS.
The RSM ( from the Gloucester Regiment) had a kniption fit over the tyre tracks in the sports field. That sports field was his pride and joy and was even loathe to allow people have a game of soccer on it, had it manicured on a weekly basis.
It did no good pointing out to him that when a pilot has an engine failure and has to auto-rotate, he has little choice and time and place as to where to land.
After you chaps left we (the flight) had to repair the field.
He was a crusty old bastard, but forgiven, because he had spent time in a North Korean POW camp in the late 50's. That experience would have warped even the strongest.
Well, now I know that JWS did exist, and not a figment of a scotch induced coma.
I thank you both, be well for the remainder.
