With the sun shining and the daffodils bursting their golden hue all around, everyone is getting in the mood for spring. In the following day the clocks go forward spilling that extra bit of light into our long nights. Yesterday I tramped around to get some socks only to stand in my bedroom thinking, “What was it I came up here for?” By the time I got back and saw Fanny the woof patiently waiting in her lead and collar I recalled the reason for my expedition . Similarly, I often peer into the fridge for no apparent reason.
We must not worry about ‘getting on a bit ' as I have just read that humans in their fifth and sixth decades are at the pinnacle of human evolution, and how crucial it has been to the success of our species.” Did you read that? Crucial to the success of our species; that’s us old farts!
Hmmm, except perhaps the ability to remember why you’ve opened the fridge. Well, I can tell you I’m greatly encouraged by this news. But I’m guessing that’s not carte blanch to carry on smoking and boozing willy-nilly… well it is if your happy so will see you all in Liverpool.
So, enjoy being where you are- and even more so if you’re over forty, don’t worry about your age just turn at the meet in Liverpool in two weeks
I’ll have to put this down to my advanced age. That and complete forgetfulness, which is an ever present companion these days especially when you can’t remember where the car keys are but it’ll make you feel smug when you realise that without the evolution of middle age “human life as we know it could never have existed.” Now that’s really something to bore your kids with, innit?
Bring them with you...

If you read this on Monday you have overslept life passes by quick like the turn of a key in a lock but it will pass quicker on April the 14th
