Just thought i would share with you my last weeks work as its friday and Magic will shut down till Monday with his witterings.
I left Perth last Sunday on a Flight to Kl excellent food wine and service on Malaysian and very cheap (Aud 300 one way)I normally travel on Singapore Airlines however the flights I needed were full which is why I opted for MAS.
I stayed overnight at the at the Tune Hotel in the now Budget Terminal LCCT which many of you who do not travel the region very often will not know about. It is clean cheap and cheerful and good enough for a nights stopover as I needed to catch a Flight to Brunei at 6am the next morning.
On this leg I travelled with Air Asia the budget carrier whos Motto is Everyone can Fly so Gunter take note. They have 85 planes in just a couple of years and fly from Stanstead to KL also. This week they have introduced a flight to Paris for approx 600 RM.So no excuses for not turning up at the next reunion in Kluang.
After arriving in BSB i drove to Seria and stayed in the Seaview for a couple of days whilst visiting Shell and I am sure some of you will remember the place even if like me it was only for brief visits on flights from Kuching.
The old airstrip is still there and is now used by Shell as their Heliport a little nostalgia there for some I believe.
I have spent the past few days in Kl and always stay at the Concorde Hotel next door to the hard Rock Cafe, where i have had a few Tigers although I believe the wine on the flight over was responsible for the attack of gout I am suffering from.Running out of my favourite Gout pills was not an issue as i walked over to the Twin Towers to see my friendly pharmacist who provided me with a few packs at 2RM for ten.
Had a good lunch at the office today Chicken Rendang,Char Kway Teow,Gado Gado, Nasi Goreng,Sweet and Sour Fish very very tasty and waiting for you guys to come and taste again.
I was going down to the pool for a swim however it is Hissing down so will need to wait for the monsoon rain to stop in about an hour. There is always a reminder of the days Andy Rheinhardt and I used to run across the Airfield to the Poll at the Club after pumping iron then run back again before going out downtown for the NIGHT.
One of the highlights of the reunions is that Andy and I plus family have been able to go back to the Islands as we have extended our holiday after the reunion weekend. JUST PLAN IT
Tomorrow i am off to stay with my brother in law in Singapore for the weekend which will include a visit to the Sea Food stalls on the East Coast and a few sundowners drinks watching the sun go down.Next week it will be 4 days in Jakarta and back home on Friday just in time for the first of the Christmas Parties .
Take care and stay fit for MAY 2011 which is a good time as a number of us celebrate our birthdays during the reunion (See the pictures )
