I'd stroll through the hangar door to my servicing bay, first on the left, opposite tech control offices, and there would be Magic and Brian Dupas ready to start the day's toil. He was already 'Magic' at that time and I never enquired why that nickname but he was always asking pertinent questions which tends to keep one on their toes! One such question which led to several more was :- "What's this?".
He was holding up a clear plastic disc with engraved concentric circles and a centre hole. I explained that it was for checking the Tail Rotor Drive Shaft alignment. The questions only stopped after we had carried out the whole check alignment procedure.
If I remember correctly, Magic was not long out of Wallop, the shiny new chevron indicated such! I'm open to correction there Magic! I guess I am one of many who remember Magic Martin with a fondness and a smile.
Thanks Magic.
