if the term chicks, bothers some people that's almost sad. The fact that woman as a people are abused around the world that has nothing to do with rock bands. That has to do with power and rage and a lot of awful shit that has nothing to do with art or chicks digging rock guys.
as far as gay rock dudes go - they were doing it for the blow jobs. And of course the expression and pleasure of creation.
If there is no chicks at rock shows - you are not a rock band. When I played 'em - there was plenty of chicks - and they dug it.

Anger - depends - it is good if you make art of it. It is bad if it just gives you a headache.
Shows - play 'em when you feel like.
