I agree with the last post. I have certainly played more shows to penises than vaginas. As to "Les's" (no real name?)... I still say art has nothing to do with anybody hearing, seeing, etc. what you make. If the only way something you do is classified as art is that people must see it, then you are only doing art for others. That, alas, could be debated as to whether it is art or just a way to get paid. People's lives can be art. Furthermore, before Franz Kafka died he requested the remainder of his writings be burned. His friend did not and those writings would certainly be "art". Had they been burned would they still be art? The Nazis burned lots of paintings, are they no longer art since they don't exist?
Also, the Van Gogh suicide theory doesn't hold water as he certainly had a fair amount of psychological and physical disease when he died. He was under the care of his doctor at that time.
