When malicious gossip or slander is passed along, the humanity of three people is thereby diminished .... the one who repeats the gossip, the one who listens to the gossip, and the one who is the subject of the gossip. When a person refrains from gossiping or tale-bearing, the angels rejoice from up above.

Enzo, I must say that it was very, very fair of you to post both links for our presidential candidates. Thank you for that. I know you are a strong Sen. Obama backer and now I see that our Mal and Trisha here are too. You are welcome to post your reasoning and I invite you to do so always.
Russ and I are passionately for McCain/Palin. We have a small business and will probably fall under the tax increase Sen. Obama has suggested, which might spell the end for us. We are struggling now, like a lot of others, and that might very well be the final nail in the coffin. We are obviously against the tax hike, especially in this time of economic strife, and opposed to the 'spreading of the wealth' theme Sen. Obama espouses. To us, it is not the American way. Hard-working people deserve to take home their hard earned wages without giving it away(unless they choose to) and should not be taxed to death. To us, raising taxes during tough economic times spells disaster. The late-great Ronald Reagan agreed with us.
Also, we feel the McCain/Palin ticket is much stronger for National Security, which is still a major issue in our minds. Even Sen. Biden himself stated that Islamic extremists will 'test' Sen. Obama within six months of his presidency if he is indeed in charge. We trust the experience and good judgement of Sen. McCain in dealing with any threat of terrorism.
And for our friends in the Middle East, the McCain/Palin team appears much more in strong support of Israel. That means so much to us. I won't lie, Enzo, and perhaps I am off, but all of these unsavory people Sen. Obama has been associated with in some degree or another is unsettling.... William Ayers(Pentagon bomber), Khalidi(anti-Israeli, pro-terrorist)....and even in a different category but questionable, Rev. Wright (who Sen. Obama himself called his spiritial advisor) with his anti-American spewing of hate, calling America 'not the USA, but the US of KKK'. I don't believe it is 'buying into fear'(Sen. Obama's words) for citizens to have concern about these associations, in whatever degree Sen. Obama is united with these people. It is a real issue for many of us.
And finally, we are not for 'fundamentally transforming this country', as Sen. Obama wishes to do in his own words. We think America is fundamentally sound, it is in fact a wonderful, WONDERFUL country, and in our opinion the best country, even with its shortcomings. We are for improving it, yes, but not for 'fundamentally transforming' it.
All that being said, you are right, Enzo. We are all in this together as Americans, and hopefully will unite and pray for the best, whatever the outcome. Please do state your pro.-Sen.Obama reasoning if you would like. Mal and Trisha too. I respect all of you, which goes without saying. We may be divided on this, but our friendships remain strong and forever.
