I used to frequent that whole message board scene back in the day, and while yes, some may have not been crazy about the way the Kit character was written, most everyone appreciated and respected the actress herself and her work. The ABC board was filled with posters who used to cut up everyone, and I vividly remember one very mean poster who once said that while she didn't like 'Kit' the character, she did like Paige the actress, especially as 'Deborah' in her stint on Days of our Lives. And remember, with another segment of people it gets a bit convoluted - character and actress mesh into one another, and if the character isn't loved, it carries over. What most people will agree on though is that the writer at the time did not give the character much of a chance to be well-received by the fans(accusing Tad falsely of rape, accusing Ryan falsely of rape, etc). Megan McTavish(the writer and creater of 'Kit') actually stated in Soap Digest that her number one regret at the time was the way she had written and chosen to develop the 'Kit' character. Anyway, actors know they are often at the mercy of the writers, and to Paige's credit, she was always a lady about the whole thing and never in any publication did she complain about the fiasco with the writing of 'Kit'. That, my friends is character. I hope it isn't as you say Linds, and bringing any of this up is a sad reminder for the actress. On the contrary, I would hope that the whole 'Kit' experience brings back memories of good, solid work, accomplishment, strength and perseverance, and the bringing in of many Soap fans to be Paige Rowland fans. Anyway, it's almost 6am and I have to go put on a face for work and visit papa in the hospital. Be well all.
