I'm glad you came here to talk about what's going on and "spill it out", although of course sorry that you have so much to spill.
You've really been hit with a double whammy and not having your best friend to lean on must be so hard. I'm really glad that your friend is having lots of tests, because if he does have a problem they can probably help him with medications.
Please keep us posted on how your friend and your father are doing.
