We've all been through similar things, so we don't see it as too heavy or get annoyed at the ten millionth time you need to rant. The board is good; it really helps. email: Mariel50@aol.com

I had a hard time knowing how much to tell my friends too... to the point that I didn't talk much at all until her first treatment was almost over and I just couldn't take it anymore. When I finally did break down, the friend I talked to told me "use your friends; it's what we're here for." Talk to them. Like Amy said, don't make it the focus of your relationships or who you are, but it's a big deal and you should let your friends help. If the shoe were on the other foot, wouldn't you want your friend to feel like they could talk to you; wouldn't you want to be there for them?
