I'm so sorry about your dad, I lost my mom in April and I empathize with your pain. Getting to the point of letting yourself realize that he wouldn't be in pain is the least selfish thing you could have done, it shows your great love for him and it puts your needs aside. He would have been proud of how you handled those last moments I truly feel. I feel it gives our loved ones peace to truly let go and go on once we have decided to accept they truly need to. Age isn't relevant, we all hurt when our parents pass away from cancer, and you've found a great place for love, understanding and support. My love and prayers go out to you, and the poem is beautiful. Please post often, let us know how you're doing, you're a special girl! Love, Vernie
