Alinco DJ596T extended receive

I received a gift of a DJ596T but the conversion listed to extend the receiver does not work (ie. has no blue wire to cut) Any ideas, as I do a lot of listerning with to a pilot friend !! Thanks Craig (ZS6HAM)
