Bought a new radio Shack HTX-252 6 months ago and Im happy with it. Combined with the diamond hna-510 antenna have made clear 2m contacts from a distance of 85 miles weekly and find im having to
leave the output power at 5watts for local repeaters up to 10 miles distance. Their is one small problem though with the volume control that when i turn on the unit the volume will stay on the highest it can be no matter if it's turned
to just before "off", but if I wiggle the volume knob a little it will work as it should till the next time the unit is turned on, a bit of a pain!
Knowing that it's either a loose solder connection on the volume potentiometer or just maybe the pot needs some cramoline spray, or maybe to be replaced, dont know yet till i get the unit apart. Roland
