As I remember this exact moment in time my body is doing many things to create this stop motion photo pose. My stomach muscles are working hard at this moment to help load the opposite side of the gforce. If you notice my left hand is pulling at the wheel assisting my stomach muscles to put my body weight forward, closer to the light front left wheel. The top of my back is not against the seat. I also use a padded support mounted on the engine that helps me with my body weight transfer when approaching an apex. I push on this support with my right elbow. This cheap padded body support also acts as a fuel pump mount. Understanding the natural motion of the kart without a driver will assist in the knowledge of proper body weight distribution and setup. This driving style minimizes tire wear and cost. Track conditions and life change every lap, so we must learn to adapt at any given moment in time. It is difficult to slow down fast motion for a thorough explanation.
This proper kart driving style is even harder to apply with faster 2 stroke models and sticky tires. Being able to control loose is fast! Do your sit ups! More of kartguy's kart tips coming soon!
