Posted by kartguy on 9/6/2007, 9:41 am What I noticed; Karters now seem to drive a go-kart much like one would drive a car. This is not how we drove our old style go-karts. There is allot missing in todays current go-karting. I think the Basic go-kart driving style is lost. If you only watch from the sidelines and never experienced old go-karts or anything like above... Does anyone else see this? How do we bring back Old School Go-Kart Driving Techniques and proper driver Etiquette to refine go-karting as it was?
When I made my return to go-karting in 1996, the style of go-karts were much different then the early 1960's style go-kart I had opportunity to learn with. (Bug Sprint, no side support seat)
The kind of driving style this old go-kart taught me was a much different style then the the driving style it took to control go-karts made in the 70's to current with fiber glass seats.
You may not have any proper experience with this topic or style of driving a go-kart.
Or am I all alone on this thought because I'm an old and greying karter? ![]()
