Posted by kartguy on 5/28/2007, 9:41 am There was a ASN sign that said "Raise hand when leaving track" at this corner Raising his hand did not work here. And wont work! There is allot of things that a young or old racer has to concentrate in this already narrow area while racing/driving at high speeds and to add a karter or two slowing with one hand up is not safe at all for others and themselves. Please correct this as it will happen again, again and again! Hope the racer is alright? His kart was not!
While watching some kart racing in Hamilton on Saturday for my first time, I witnessed a kart role over in the last narrow corners just before the pit entrance....
They had to take this karter to the hospital.
The cause of the role over was a one handed karter slowing looking behind with worry about the on coming karts behind him at full speed.
One of the oncoming full speed karts hit and climbed on top of the slowing, one handed karter then flipped and landed hard upside down.
This should not have been approved for racing anything at anytime.
Keep the cost down...I don't mean money either!
It looked very BAD from the view of the spectator stands.
It also looks bad for our view of karting safety.
