Back in the days of black and white pictures I recall seeing a photo of a kart race event held at Goodwood and the only items in the pits were lots of karts,tools and tents...Spare parts were not brought to the track...They were bought at the track.
Trailers and vehicals where parked on the grass up on the hill. There were no reserved parking spots in our pits for huge trailers. We were not asked to move our stuff because someone had more dough in karting and arrived after you.
The view of the pits looked very organized and equal for all participants. The pits looked simple more attractive and very karting related for the interest of non karters...remember then?
It would also allow us more working space and we would not have to push our karts up the hill in between heats if we arrived late and be at a disadvantage to others.
