Spicy Pickle fast casual restaurant opened their second Kalamazoo area location this week on Monday, January 12 at 5363 West Main Street in Oshtemo Township, immediately east of Steak n Shake. To celebrate, they have published a $5 gift card coupon, valid only this first week of business thru Monday, January 19. The coupon is limit one per customer per visit and may not be used in combination with other specials. I found the coupon printed on the back page of Monday's Western Herald, the free, independent, student-run newspaper at Western Michigan University. The paper is distributed at many locations both on and off campus.
I redeemed my coupon today for a Gobbler (sausalito turkey) panini. It normally costs $6.75, but after the coupon I paid $1.75 plus 11¢ sales tax. As advertised, my panini came wrapped with a spicy pickle spear. Other items you can purchase at Spicy Pickle include: large salads for $5.95 and $6.95, small salads for $3.50 and $3.95, kids meal $3.75, large soups $3.75, small soups $2.85, and a spicy pickle for 25¢.
An ongoing offer at Spicy Pickle is a free fountain drink ($1.35 value) with any purchase when a valid college identification card is shown. I don't expect one could use both the gift card coupon and get the free beverage.
If you take advantage of this free stuff offer, please share your experience.
If you learn of any other free stuff offers in the Kalamazoo area, please share what you know.
