Posted by Jeffrey Alan Messer I am expecting gas prices to go up tomorrow to as high as $2.399, but they may only restore to $2.299. January gasoline futures settled at $1.6174 today. If prices do go up tomorrow, it is worth noting that prices also went up last year on December 14 (a Wednesday) to $2.399. Before that restore last year, the lowest prices were on Gull Road at $2.189. I don't know if this is new or if it has been this way for a while, but the Circle K Citgo on Portage Road north of I-94 has BP-Amoco branded pumps. I suggest you avoid pump 6 at Speedway Drake Road and KL Avenue. I bought gas there last night for $2.199 per gallon (also the home of the most expensive kerosene in town at $3.899). The pump did not click off when the tank was full!!! :x The thing overflowed the tank and spilled about 2.5 gallons of gas onto the pavement before I noticed and stopped it manually. Fortunately, the clerk was helpful and gave me the fuel credit I asked for, $5. I suggested the clerk put an out of order sign on the pump. I haven't been back yet to see if he did it or not.

I don't know the last time gas prices went up in the Kalamazoo area. It seems it has been about two weeks now. The lowest prices can currently be found in the South Westnedge area at $2.089. Near the airport gas is second lowest at $2.099. Elsewhere in Kalamazoo, $2.199 is mostly the high end, except $2.359 at the non-branded station on Douglas Street at Alamo Avenue, which appears to have covered their pumps with new Marathon logos. Stations selling around $2.089 are selling at about cost. 126
