Tarporley were the opponents in what turned out to be a thrilling game. A Mike Upton hat trick might have been enough to win all the points on most days. However, Tarporley proved to be strong competitors and a draw turned out to be a fair result. Under 17 – sponsored by Dan Heat The Under 17s met Shamblers in the third round of the Sentinel Cup. Jamie Robinson opened the scoring for the Blues, but it was the opposition who showed the drive to reach the next round, scoring twice without reply from the Grove. FINAL SCORE – SHAMBLERS 2 KIDSGROVE ATHLETIC 1 Under 16 – sponsored by Alec Ross Carpets The Under 16 team took on Stafford Town Rangers in the semi final of the County Cup competition. Daniel Beigus and Tom Storer were on the scoreboard for the Blues, but their efforts were unfortunately not enough to save the tie, as the Stafford team booked their place in the final. FINAL SCORE – KIDSGROVE ATHLETIC 2 STAFFORD TOWN 3 Under 13s – sponsored by Simon Dean Motors The Under 13s suffered a rare defeat in the league at the hands of Willaston White Star. Ben Bradshaw scored the only goal for the Blues, in a game which should not dent the title hopes of the Grove lads. Under 12s – sponsored by Sandyford Garage, Newchapel and Macdonald’s, Sandyford FINAL SCORE – KIDSGROVE ATHLETIC 2 TEAM STATUS 4 Under 11s – sponsored by ACR Batchings and Macdonald’s, Sandyford The Under 11s kept their title hopes alive with maximum points against Tean Rangers. Goals came from Niall McGlade (2) and Ashley Armstrong. With the season nearing its climax, the youngest Blues’ squad are set for what appears to be an exciting end to the season.

The Under 12 team continue to develop in terms of footballing ability, despite the results going against them. Team Status took a three goal lead into the interval even though the Blues had dominated the game. Josh Brayford reduced the arrears with two goals early in the second half only for the opposition to pounce on a defensive error to take the points.
