Posted by Steve on 26/2/2006, 7:43 pm Perhaps even more worrying is what appears to be an attempt by some people to create a rivalry between some of the age groups in the club. The youth team managers know that we are working towards a common goal not individual glory. All the teams playing under the KAFC banner are at different stages of their development, so there are no real comparisons to be made, certainly not any made on the basis of subjective opinion rather than facts. If those people making derogatory comments about young lads are so sure of their grounds, how come they don't make themselves known? Who are you? What level have you played at? Michelle is right when she says that the youth team players have been involved with the 1st team from pre-season training onwards. Furthermore, the management continue to be in touch with the youth section on a regular basis with regards to the progress of the players. Anyone involved in the club would be aware of this. They would also be aware of the fact the club is planning the next stage of the development of the Under 18/17/16 players in terms of playing at the next level of football. Ironic that these players could be team mates when some people are attempting to drive a wedge between them. If you are really concerned about the future of KAFC and really want to give youth a chance then back them, support them and leave narrow minded people to support other clubs. Singling individual players out for criticism is both misguided and cowardly, especially if you are not prepared to identify yourself. By the way TP, no offence - but don't respond as I am not interested.

I am rather concerned at the amount of people purporting to be concerned about the future of KAFC, but who are willing to discredit the achievements of the youth players. All the youngsters who take to the pitches are doing their best in the name of the club. Let's remember that they are kids when all is said and done. They do not deserve to be the subject of people's petty point scoring.
