Posted by Maurell on 3/29/2005, 7:18 am, in reply to "Hydrotek 5000" I also had a Hydrotek 5000 valve on my eight zone sprinkler system, and I had similar troubles. The valve would either skip zones, or would repeat the same zone several times. I tried all the suggestions on K-Rain's web page, but it still didn't work. While looking for spare internal parts I found out that K-Rain has discontinued this valve. I eventually located a new rubber disk and indexing cap, but replacing them made no difference. I called several irrigation equipment suppliers in the area, they all said that the eight zone valve was notorious for having these problems, and that it's probably why it was discontinued. A company called Fimco also shows an eight zone index valve on their website, but I haven't been able to find one, and the local irrigation guys around here say it's not much better. Finally I just bit the bullet and changed over to an electronic sprinkler controller and eight separate valves.
