Posted by John One valve stopped working altogether. If I turn the solenoid, nothing happens. When I turn on that station, I hear the solenoid click but nothing happens except for a little trickle out of a couple sprinkler heads. However, water came out full blast at the sprinkler heads when my wife accidentally put the big spring in first then the diaphragm. Since I don't know how these things work, not sure what that means. To make sure there was water to the valve, we took off the top half and water shot out as expected when the water was turned back on. Once we put the valve back together, nothing happens. I did check the flow control and no matter what setting, little water comes out of the sprinklers. Unfortunately, the valve is obsolete, and I was told parts are not available, and this one is installed below ground in a really small cover, so it was not easy to get to, so I dug out all the dirt and removed that valve protector box or whatever you call it. I see that threaded pipe goes into each side of the valve, but it looks like there is a fitting glued on to the pipe going to the sprinklers. If I have to remove the valve, I think I cut the PVC at the output hole of the valve and then turn the whole valve to unscrew the input end. Does that sound right? Then screw a replacement valve in and figure out how to attach the output back to the PVC going to the sprinkler heads. Any hints or tricks?
