Chris,
. Adult Colombian Rainbows do not require fulltime ultrahigh humidity. However, I do not think 85% is too high. Wheezing sounds are often caused by dried unshed skin around the edges of the nares. They sometimes also occur if the snake has just had a big drink and is then picked up causing water to flow out of the throat into the windpipe. A snake with a respiratory infection will often sound bubbly and also have wet or frothy discharge from it's nose and mouth. The only time I have Rainbow Boas with respiratory infections is during cooling prior to breeding. They usually clear up by just increasing the cage temperature back to normal.
