. A 36 inch lon cage is big enough for one or two BRBs but a 48 inch cage would be better. Building your own is a good idea if you will spend lots of time applying many coats of polyurethan so that the wood does not absorb moisture from inside the cage. Most of the plastic cages for sale are good if you block off most of the ventilation screens. I have no problems keeping BRBs of either sex together. Smaller snakes are sometimes intimidated by larger ones and will not go into hiding spots which may be the best temperature for them if the larger snake is inside the hiding spot.
