I don't know what you mean by "invest" but I certainly can say I have enjoyed my brb's. I have had them for only 1 year in April, but they are much more to my liking than the corn snake I had that died just 3 days ago. I was initially steered away from rainbows because they "were not for beginners". I bought that corn instead and kept him for 13 years. The brb's are much more enjoyable in that they seem to enjoy handling, sit in one place (when they're not exploring), and have more of a personality than my corn did. I figured last April, if I had kept the corn snake for 12 years, then I could probably do alright with something that needed more specific environmental conditions. It has not been harder to have the brb's it just cost more to set them up initially and to keep them fed.
