I still have a bookmark on the software company that J4u was using for forums. We've had several backup boards over the years. Dang! I'm loosing my lurker status by posting so much lately.
The "other" other board uses the same type of interface that Just4u.com was using when I joined on. Then we got moved over to Southbeach for reasons unknown or long forgotten.
AL is still the registered owner of both domains and a few more. I tried, within reason, to get a hold of him but am at a loss to explain his silence. And I'm starting to have doubt creep in about the future of Southbeach, even if it does become available again.
I still frequent some of them...this place being one of them. This board fufills the role of its intended purpose quite well...but it lacks somewhat in eye candy.
One of the problems tho with these backup boards is that they seldom appear in search engines and don't have the draw upon newbies searching the internet, desperately, for help. Southbeach never had the draw like J4U did. And like Slim alluded to, I wonder if this and the other-other board would be found under a search engine...preferably on the first page of a search. **shaking head** It's all about marketing. **insider joke as I'm in a constant battle lately with the marketing dept of my employer**
