hard"....self-pity--confabulated rationalization and
justification--the absolute certainty that just one cigarette would
help--it would take the edge off--it wouldn't hurt (do I need to go

reasonable and so great 5 minutes ago--was going on in one's head that
this would really do the trick, never got delivered. The awful
realization, that that precious wall you had spent many painful hours
of enduring withdrawal, days carefully constructing and strengthening
the wall to prevent just such a seduction from getting a foothold in
your brain, just got torn down, and there's nothing to show for it.
clock back to five minutes earlier.....then the awful realization
hits....IT WASN'T WORTH IT!!

go thru the temporary emotional surge, the unexpected, than start
over.....much, much easier. If it means sitting on your hands, or
sitting in a tub of water until one is a prune....if it means sitting
up in a tree, howling at the moon...if it means draining the tub and
still sitting there, if it means having a long talk with your dog,
rather than your SO, if it means grabbing the nearest chocolate.....do
it.
NOT
HAVE GOTTEN THIS FAR!! So you can manage that unruly mind....
the most to gain or lose....
YOU--AND BEAT THE HOLY @#$% OUT OF IT, while you're at it.
