I am writing to see if anybody knows somebody who may be interested in a dog swap. 1st I will tell you what I have, and then what I am looking for.
I currently have a 20 month old Staffy Bull. Both of his parents are AKC Ch. He is been tested and is clear of the genetic disorder found in staffy bulls-(L2/HGA). Temperament (A+), has been raised around children from day 1, and is great with ALL people. He has a great bite, topline, angulation, and head. His only fault (and this is not even a fault amoun non-show people is that he is 17" tall, and the standard calls for 13-16". He is VERY athletic, Can jump high, and run for days. He is very confident with other dogs, and if they behave, he is fine. If they test him, he will assert himself. He is very "gamey" around critters--rabbits, cats, squirrls--anything furry. I would like him to go to a home which will utilize these atributes.
My 2 reasons for me wanting to barter with him are
1) I have a TOTALLY different line of female, which when the time come to breed her (if she checks out), I would go with more of a line breeding using a different male than my own, and
2) We have had a few break ins around this neighborhood the last month, and I want something that is more assertive toward strangers, while still being able to be a part of my household (children 11 and 7). My daughter come home and is here for about an hour, and I want something hat she could acceess that would not hesitate to protect.
you can view him at www.ironstonestaffords.weebly.com
Now for what I am looking for.
I had AB's in the mid-90's, and my type is the Hybrid type--Johnson/Painter
Johnson/Scott, etc.. I want a dog in the 80-95 pound range. I want a dog that is clean, athletic, with a moderate bully look. No extremes. I do not like low slung, sloppy dogs with elbows turned out and that "hack" when they breathe. (if that is your thing, then that is cool--just not what I desire) I want a dog that has dogs capable of PP in its pedigree--phenotype and temperament. I do want a male, and age is not that important. I would take a pup or a young dog. Probably not an adult. At any rate, any help that anybody could provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time.
Charles
I have been around a lot of dogs in my adult years, and I will say without reservation that my Staffy male is without a doubt one of the better dogs you can come across-(if you are looking for that type of dog).
