Thank you Neva for your response. I wrote the message telling you how much my parents loved Mr.Reeves music and the collection of albums that filled the shelves above our cherished stereo sitting in the dining room....and, it is true,my parents added a new album of Mr.Reeves every Friday evening after work since it was payday and a visit to a music record store was in for a visit!! Although my dad loved Mr.Reeves music, it is about my mom I must talk about. She loved and felt the emotion of music....dad at times described my mom as a hell-cat...thick long curly Auburn hair and a woman who stood her ground to what she did or didn't like...only two music singers held my mom's attention------Jim Reeves and Jerry Lee Lewis.... sometimes I think Mr. Lewis's music made my mom wanna cheat, but when she put an album of Mr.Reeves on the stereo turntable his music and words made her realize that the results of cheating brings on feelings of hurt and despair....a lonesomeness that cannot be filled....I think words of "he'll have to go" and it's meaning stuck in mom's mind------'cause she never cheated on my dad!!!!! Yes, mom certainly had the beauty----but she also had the wisdom, and those moments of Mr.Reeves music of hurt and lost loves that played in our home opened her eyes!!! How can one not be moved with words like "I missed me in your arms last night"...I think at the moment when that music was playing she thought of my dad's arm. Just wanted to share my thoughts and memories of Mr.Reeves.
Great country music is a Reeves family tradition.
