Thank you for your very kind words in behalf of Neva and I carrying on the music of Jim. After 26 years of working for a national company with good success, our two sons, Scott and Jim were out of college and gainfully employed. Neva knew that I had been doing all I could to keep our legacy going, however, now I had a chance to follow music full time. In 1992 we chose to go full time music. Naturally, we met resistance everywhere we turned. We finally decided to take a theatre in Branson, MO. We did the Jim Reeves Tribute Show from 2005 through 2009, and were one of Branson's most successful shows. I was offered a show at Midwest Country Theatre in Sandstone, MN which has a show on RFD TV. This happened in 2007, and for the first time it gave me a national audience. I started a television mail order CD business, and Neva started running this part of the business. We have been pleasantly surprised at the national response we have received. Our music has taken us to England, Norway, and Australia (4 times), and a trip to Sri Lanka is forth coming.
During the past 24 years of singing to Jim Reeves fans it has really been a pleasure. His music will live forever and maybe we have in some way helped keep his music alive.
The Jim Reeves Enterprise has been in a constant turmoil, and this at times has made things much harder for everyone except the lawyers handling the estate. I am, after all these years, still committed to do what I can to keep the Reeves name alive for our grandkids, Melissa and Travis.
Every time I do a Jim Reeves Tribute, we always meet new fans who have wonderful memories of Jim that they are pleased to share with us. I hope to do this the rest of my life. The trip that music has allowed us to follow has been most gratifying, and that is enough for us. The boxes of cards and letters that we have accumulated through the years is the biggest thank you we could ever dream of.
In closing, Myrtle, thank you for all your love and caring in behalf of Jim's music. You have got to be the No.1 Reeves fan on this earth.
Best wishes and may God Bless Jim and the beautiful body of musical work that the world never seems to tire of. Our love and best wishes, John and Neva
Great country music is a Reeves family tradition.
