After almost 45 years, millions of people still love and revere his music. Although he died 20 days before he was 41, he recorded over 350 songs, and was first a hillbilly music star, then country star, and transcended the Grand Ole Opry to become one of the greatest ballad singers the world has ever known. I would think this far exceeds the careers of people who live long lives while in the music business. It was sad that Jim and Mary could not have children, because Jim loved them so much. I heard him say many times that he would have liked to have had children. It was just not to be. But overall, this man is etched in history as Gentleman Jim, one of the greatest singers of our time.

Great country music is a Reeves family tradition.
