Now don't get me wrong, the truth of the matter seems to be (from experience) when a particular customer "needs you; or , requires he right answer", you get the call. However, many many times this same customer will walk across your lawn and go next door if they can save a penny.
Case in point: A year ago, a long time customer said he needed a specific V-Jet that day because he was doing a important job. I told him we had one in stock waiting for him and the cost was only $8.25. (Now, we had helped this customer out so many times and did many many favors for him as well)
He began to argue the price because he said he could order it from a mail order house for $7.55. (It would take a couple days to receive it and how about shipping?!)
He continued and would not listen to reason, thus I calmly mentioned to him that he better purchase from "the other guy", period. Never saw this Gentleman again since then.
But the same applies to the boards. Take this one as an example. Many tune in and read the questions/threads but never post. Thus I conclude that nowadays, there have become more "takers", than, "Givers".
Too bad ...................
