The reason I bring this up is how many of the Operators in our business could adapt this plan to their own carpet cleaning businesses. Every now and then, I get a cleaner asking "how much a square ft is the norm?" Well, its' alright to know the local competition however, why do most asking then lower their asking prices?
I believe from what I have seen, that most operate with an old beater truck and a pail and brush! Most are not sales people who can point out the most important aspects of cleaning results: The equipment they have and the knowledge that follows. Many lack consistent Professionalism and of course appear to put more thought into the 7/11 down the street and that 6 pack of Bud Lite.
The Coffee Shop that I mentioned above is always packed; many times hard to find a seat to sit down! Why? Their competitor down the street has "coffee" and "eats" CHEAPER.
Don't coral yourself in a corner regarding pricing for your product and service unless you do not think its any better than the next guy.
