But your post reminded me of several aspects of marketing to individuals and especially their decision making. Which, BTW, I have found unbelievable.
I remember going on a sales trip through PA., requested by the customer. Had two particular individuals interested in seeing a "demo" (of the then, JAGUAR 4000XPS). Confirmed the trip/demo the day before as agreed.
Drove for about 7 hours; got to the first location where we had a definite appointment. Long story short: Customer wasn't there! Went to a Dunkin Donuts down the street; stayed there for about 2 hours, calling, calling. Finally got him and he gave us some stupid story. Had to leave and get to our second location, then onto NJ to deliver a machine.
A week later, at the Office, the customer whom didn't show called and asked if we could come back!!!
Moral of this story (as others!): These people won't walk across the street to see a demo!
Truly unbelievable!
