This is another great question. Anything such as trying ones best to correct a problem situation such as this-------could-------cause another situation of customer disappointment, and possibly a liability situation too.
If I attempted to help the customer, I would completely explain the limitations , and, have them sign a release that you are not responsible for any liability (such as a customer fall by tripping, cosmetic, etc) In other words, once you change something and make it different, then "YOU" become responsible for any bad comments, or any other situation which could be related to that area.
