Kenny my 5500 watt generator has a Subaru Robbins 8.5 HP engine . I have put 275 hours on it and so far the motor is running very much like it always has. It has electric start and will start within a couple of seconds.
The generator is brushless so I would think it may outlast the engine. Really don't know but makes sense . It does surge up to 6500 watts I believe. Runs the Jag 6.6 with ease.
