lots of home have wall to wall wool, that used to be the norm, casinos have all wool carpeting in them. Wool as a rule wears better last longer and is easier to clean, you just have to actually do some maintenance with it. To answer the question, if the carpeting did not rip off the tack strip then after it drys it will go down.
