Mark;
This is a loaded question only in the sense that there are many variables as I am sure you are aware of. Especially when it comes to; 1. Used Equipment......and...2. "(good) condition" descriptions.
I think whenever considering the purchase of HWE equipment (TM/portables) of any brand or model, the potential purchaser always is at higher risk than the purchase of a simplier ,rotary machine as an example. The reasons are obvious.
My experience watching in the background has been this:
1. Is it "Used" or used up? (definition
Most always, they are used up due to wear & tear, and/or abuse.
2. I have never seen someone selling a machine described any other way but: "Good Condition"; "Hardly Used"; "Only 1 1/2 years old" (definition
Worked to death; &/or, really 8 years old!
Now, don't get me wrong. Sometimes everyone gets lucky at the one armed bandits at the Casino and will be a real winner, but, the general purchaser is going to be sold on "Price" and what he hears and wants to believe. Unfortunately, in many examples I have witnessed, this has been a devistating downfall to their personal finances.
Now to answer your question regarding a suggested purchase price: $400 to $500.00 (highest offer) ---if---it is in (true sight & seen) "very good working condition" with reasonable wear & tear on all hoses and wand. remember, it has been depreciated perhaps at least once or twice. And, the purchaser would have to replace motors and pump-----soon.
Hope this helps;
Ed Valentine
