Carpet protectors like Scotchgard,Teflon,Hardball and others do make a big difference if they are applied correctly.
For most of these products an electric sprayer with the proper jet will do wonders for helping a customers carpet to last longer and stay clean longer.
I realize that for some of these products when you put them down as directed it will increase the dry time to as much as 12 hours. When ever I used Scotchgard I always left a couple of airmovers so as to eliminate for the most part this problem.
Hard Ball has dealt with this the best way by formulating their flourchemical protector so that you put it down undiluted.
They have both solvent based and water based . The drying times are not affected very much and in fact with the solvent based it may even help the drying process!
I have tested these products so that I would not just take somebody elses word that they work and work well.
I have in my own home after cleaning the carpet applied protectors on some of the traffic areas and on others did not apply.
Not all products are created equal but the ones that I mentioned do make a big difference when applied PROPERLY!
