Early in your life someone, probably your parents, instilled in you the notion that no one owes you a living.
In your Professional Cleaning career, you learned that your customers don't pay for your efforts; they pay for results.
I remember 38 years ago that I could have purchased on of those common generic cheap extractors with 4-wheels and an extension cord that would squirt & suck and do a somewhat "cosmetic" cleaning job. But, I quickly realized that Performance & Efficiency became an essential part of my life-long learning experience. As Professionals, it behooves us to be honest and evaluate, rate, and improve our performances everyday so that we progress and never become stale or stagnant. And, sometimes that includes taking a look at ourselves in the mirror too.
Your staff and work crew must be as professional as you are. The abuse of technology (voice mail, etc), lack of courtesies (saying "please" & "thank you") gossiping, tardiness, & failure to return phone calls are irritants tht need to be eradicated.
Create your rules & expectations and abide by them and by doing so you will help to develop a great working enviroment.
The very best to all;
Ed Valentine
