Classical Creationism isn't included most people's basic belief systems. Having "Faith" (The belief that a supernatural being or thing does something is compartmentalized, kept separate from logic, science and realism). Your average creationist sees symbolism everywhere where it's not and can't see the metaphors where it's obvious like in most the bible. They've painted themselves into a corner with their pig headedness and are to embarrassed to admit their interpretation is wrong.
