Are you aware that our Miguel Garcia was recently on Australian TV? Our very own Paul Willis, who posted here years ago, was hosting a tour of the ABC "science" show "Catalyst" through the Sydney Botanical Gardens. Miguel got a few seconds.
For those who don't know, "Catalyst" is a very tame, politically correct popular science show that at times seems to be more about the hosts (such as our Paul) than about hard, gritty science. It's popularised, sanitised science at its worst. Try as you might, you will never see NARTH psychotherapists interviewed about their effective treatment of homosexuality, or a graphic display of the latest techniques in partial-birth abortion, or the abusive mis-use of science in Dutch euthanasia practices. You will see, though, our Paul poncing about harmlessly on estuarine mud flats with a marine biologist or some goggle-eyed bimbo "science-journalist" bursting into a room and gushing mindlessly at the array of scientific instruments. It's a joke and I watch it for that reason.
