a Greenpeace vessel was sunk by French saboteurs while here berthed at the port of Auckland . The French were testing nuclear weaponry at Mururoa atoll in the South Pacific despite protests that they test in their own backyard. We protested to the French Government for the sabotage within our own port. They denied any knowledge of the event. And had the effrontery to subsequently promote to higher rank both Alain Mafart and Dominique Prieur the two French officers we believed responsible.
Herbs "French Letter" was all about this incident.
I agree Greenpeace is like a middle ages fundamentalist religion.
