Scotty- If you're along the shore downown K-town you might have some 6a micros! Amherst I is a long term 5b. If you really want to be in a zone 6a you're best bet is moving along the windward shore of Prince Edward county. It's the closest thing in the area! I think I'm finally over my 'zone denial' and am into the phase of 'zone acceptance'! I think it give me some perspective on: 1) what I can reasonably expect to grow without protection. and 2) what sort of protection is necessary to ensure plant survival!
