Tim,
From the vantage point of your photograph (I'm talking about the one next to the wood fence) and the relatively vigorous-looking growth, your magnolia looks like it could be an "Edith Bogue". "BBB" tends to have tighter branching and slightly slower growth. Plus the leaves on yours don't look especially curvey, like "BBB". I could be wrong, but from the photo, I'd say it's "Edith Bogue".
I have found that all Magnolia grandiflora cultivars can be slow to start flowering when young - especially the larger growing cultivars. They really put more energy into growing, rather than flowering, while they are small. And by nature, they just don't get as covered in flowers like some asian magnolias do (which bloom at one relatively short time), or even Magnolia virginiana (which blooms over a shorter period than grandiflora). Magnolia grandifloras bloom a few flowers at a time, over a long period, and do so more with age and size too. So don't expect too many flowers while yours is young.
